Did you hear the one about the 12 year tech sales veteran who became a world-famous stand-up comedian?
Of course not. Stand-up's horribly non-lucrative, takes forever to break through, and former Oracle salesguys eventually miss money. So, they marry their tech sales background with 6 years of performing stand-up comedy to create a training & workshop that helps sales reps craft tasteful, relatable jokes to better connect with and engage their prospects.
Highly improbable stand-up comic Jon Selig's training & workshop (entitled, "Funny: You Should Say That!") a) shows the effects & value of using humor when selling, and explains the mechanics of how to create some funny. It's followed by breakout sessions where teams collaboratively craft (again - tasteful) jokes to specifically be used when selling. It's a team-building exercise that improves creativity & presentation skills. If good jokes come out of it, reps will break down more barriers with more prospects, increase likeability, and enhance confidence.
Jon's excited to share skills picked up from his mid-career with members of the Austin chapter of AA-ISP.
Bio
Jon Selig coaches business & sales professionals on how to make audiences laugh so they can better connect, engage, and influence. He's a far less serious in person than his copywriting leads you believe.
Jon received his BComm & MBA followed by a 12 year career selling technology before his career took a sharp left-turn in 2011, and he started performing stand-up comedy. In that time, he's performed at JFL Zoofest, The Comedy Nest's Young Guns of Comedy, and he's also also appeared in a segment on The Daily Show. He's the founder of Comedy Abroad, a social enterprise which has helped 8 nonprofits in 3 Latin American countries raise $23K USD, with live English stand-up comedy fundraisers for travellers, expats, & snowbirds. His eyebrows demonstrate a lack of photoshop expertise. www.jonselig.com
